We received SO MUCH positive feedback from our 2018 Instagram Tips blog post, so we couldn't help ourselves..here is the highly anticipated 2019 Instagram Tips post. We are here to spread some light on tricks to help get you crack the Instagram code, boost your engagement and of course, your following.

Knowing When an How Often to Post

Ohh the ever changing algorithm...New reports say the ideal schedule is 1-2 posts a day. The most crucial part of this is the idea of consistency. No matter how often your account post, be sure that there is some type of rhyme or reason to it.

Recommended post times vary depending on the source you acquire from, but most posting platforms (Hootsuite, Buffer, and our personal favorite, Sprout Social) will give you ideal times based on your audience. This one we are okay putting into the posting god’s hands.

Be Wise With Your Hashtags

“Selecting the best hashtags for your Instagram posts can mean the difference between appearing as a top post or sinking to the bottom of the feed without a trace” (Falco.io).

Avoid making your hashtags too generic (#Food, #NYE, etc) or your post will be lost in the thousands of other accounts using the hashtag #NYE. Instead, try using a more specific tag for your photo such as #NYCforNYE. Instagram allows up to 30 tags to be placed on your photo, however, most brands use far less than that to avoid looking unprofessional.

Giveaways and Contests

We all know the power of a good ole’ influencer giveaway..we’ve been there..tagging sorority sisters from college that you haven't spoken to in 3 years, yeah. It’s brilliant.

Overall contest and giveaways generate 3.5 times more likes and 64 times more comments than regular posts.

If you decide to try this out, let us know (we lauveee a good contest).

Promote Your Instagram Account on Other Channels

You’re working hard on your #insta account, why not draw as much traffic to it as possible. For example, promote your instagram account of your Facebook wall with a clickable link to allow your friends to follow you.

You can also exploit Instagram’s auto-post and cross-promotional tools. The cross-promotional tools allow you to instantly post from Instagram to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and more, bringing followers together from across your social networks.

Now it’s time for you to put these tips into action -  we can’t wait for you to notice the differences in your monthly reports!
